2023-05-25:	It's been a busy few months! Another batch of news items for catch up: Emily Graves and Mario Angarita advanced to Ph.D. candidacy this spring! Congratulations! Papers published: Mario's paper on SAR amplitude use to quantify large scale surface change was published in JGR: https://doi.org/10.1029/2022JB024344. Edgecumbe (L'ùx Shaa) Volcano inflation was published in GRL: https://doi.org/10.1029/2022GL099464. Ronni was involved in a paper published in JGR mapping magma sources under Okmok with local earthquake tomography: https://doi.org/10.1029/2022JB024656. Deformation at Erebus volcano in Antarctica from more than 20 years of GNSS observations published in JVGR: https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jvolgeores.2022.107703. Revathy led a paper in SRL on testing how well GNSS instantaneous velocities capture large earthquake ground motion comparing it to seismic data for the Chignik earthquake: https://doi.org/10.1785/0220220357. Logan Fusso successfully defended and published his thesis "Insar-Derived Thermoelastic Lava Flow Compaction Following the 2014–2015 Holuhraun Fissure Eruption" PDF is here: https://www.proquest.com/pagepdf/2695484388/Record/6B317BCFFC4B48F6PQ - congrats! Post-Rifting Relaxation During 2015–2020 Following the Bárðarbunga-Holuhraun Dike Intrusion and Eruption in Iceland led by Siqi Li, University of Iceland, published in GRL.
2022-05-04:	Science Advances paper on the connection between the 2020 M7.8 Simeonof, 2021 M8.2 Chignik earthquakes in the larger context of the Alaska-Aleutian Megathrust is out: Cascading rupture of a megathrust. It also includes an initial model for the M7.6 2020 Sand Point strike slip event. GI news release here.
